But if I DO remove to meshes, then the helmet doesn't show up at all when I try to wear it. I made sure no other mod puts any meshes to that folder via the Data structure in MO.

I think this has to do with a conflict between it and USLEEP, as far as I can tell and the only other thing I could think would be a factor is a mod that allows circlets with hoods.
