Their "Airbucker" technology is literally just leaving an air gap in between the magnets and the coil to alter the magnetic field and inductive characteristics. I don't have a long list of mini/Firebird hums to compare it too, but I like it better than the Gibson Firebird Lead that was in my guitar before I put the PG-13 in, and I like the way it sounds better than the mini hums in the Sterling St. Vincent.
